In the One Hundred and Ninetieth General Court
(2017-2018)
_______________
An Act designating certain highways as state historic highways.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
United States highway route 20, United States highway route 1, and United States highway route 6, which were adopted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) on November 11, 1926, shall be designated and known in the commonwealth as state historic highways. The purpose of the historic highway designation for route 20, route 1, and route 6 is to recognize the historic character of the highways across the continental United States. Any city or town through which route 20, route 1, or route 6 cross may erect and maintain suitable markers on the routes bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
