An Act relative to the tenure of office of the city clerk of the city of Revere.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 17 of the acts of 2012 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding section 12 of chapter 41 of the General Laws, section 18 of chapter 43 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the city clerk of the city of Revere holding office on the effective date of this act shall continue to hold office until a vacancy occurs by death, resignation, retirement or removal from office by the city council, which shall be for just cause.
SECTION 3. Upon a vacancy occurring pursuant to section 1, the city council of the city of Revere shall elect a city clerk pursuant to section 18 of chapter 43 of the General Laws.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
