Occupant Liability

Mr. Walsh of Peabody moves to amend the bill in SECTION 4, by adding the following section:

“Section 11. Any occupant who knowingly enters into a short-term rental agreement with a host under false pretenses shall be held personally liable for any and all property damage occurring during said rental and may be subject to criminal prosecution pursuant to section 127 of chapter 266; provided, however, that such person shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than 2 and one-half years and a fine of not more than $5,000”.
