Special Education Circuit Breaker Reimbursement
Representatives Hill of Ipswich, Poirier of North Attleborough, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn, Smola of Warren, Muradian of Grafton, Kelcourse of Amesbury, Orrall of Lakeville, Campanale of Leicester, Ferguson of Holden, Berthiaume of Spencer, Kuros of Uxbridge, Kane of Shrewsbury, Dooley of Norfolk, Harrington of Groton, Diehl of Whitman, D'Emilia of Bridgewater, Howitt of Seekonk, DeCoste of Norwell, Lyons of Andover, Barrows of Mansfield, Crocker of Barnstable, Hunt of Sandwich, Wong of Saugus, Mirra of West Newbury, McKenna of Webster, Muratore of Plymouth, Whelan of Brewster, Lombardo of Billerica and Durant of Spencer move to amend the bill in Section 2, in item 7061-0012, in line 44, by striking out the figures “$12,500,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$37,000,000”.
And moves to further amend the bill by inserting the following section:-
“SECTION X. Section 14 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as most recently amended by chapter 55 of acts of 2017, is hereby amended in subsection (b) by inserting after “ Chapter 94C” the following:-
“ and (vi) special education reimbursement - circuit breaker, only if the appropriation of funding dispersed for the previous fiscal year does not properly reimburse a city, town, or regional school districts by 75 per cent of all approved costs that exceed 4 times the state average per pupil foundation budget, as defined in chapter 70.”
