Amendment #1023 to H4400

Municipal Police Staffing Grant

Mr. Moran of Lawrence moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 1599-0026, by adding the following: "provided further, that not less than $5,000,000 be transferred to the executive office of public safety and security for a competitive program to be administered by the office for staffing police departments. This Grant program is for municipalities that have populations of at least 60,000; and demonstrate that their police or fire departments had an operating budget per capita of less than $200".
