Amendment #1054 to H4400

Review of SHIP Requirement

Mr. McMurtry of Dedham moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"SECTION XXXX. There shall be a task force to review for the purposes of determining the necessity and sustainability of the student health insurance program as authorized by  MGL c. 15A s. 18.

The task force shall be chaired by the secretary of health and human services, or her designee, and include the following members, or their designees: the secretary of education; the secretary of administration and finance; the commissioner of higher education; the community college executive office; the Massachusetts hospital association;  the state university council of presidents; the University of Massachusetts president; the association of independent colleges and universities of Massachusetts; the senate president; and the speaker of the house of representatives. Not later than January 1, 2019, the task force shall report to the secretary of administration and finance and the house and senate committees on ways and means.”
