MCPAP for Moms Substance Use Disorder Expansion

Representatives O'Day of West Boylston, Fiola of Fall River, Vargas of Haverhill, Rogers of Cambridge, Khan of Newton, Ferguson of Holden, Smizik of Brookline, Walsh of Framingham, Garballey of Arlington, Hecht of Watertown, Gentile of Sudbury, Fernandes of Falmouth and Garlick of Needham move to amend the bill in section 2, in line item 5046-0000, in line 20, by inserting after the words “outcomes measured;” the following: “; provided further, that not less than $175,000 shall be expended for the purpose of the Massachusetts child psychiatry access program (MCPAP) for Moms expanding its perinatal psychiatric consultation services to include substance use disorder-specific education, training, consultation, and care coordination, including but not limited to: hiring a part time addiction medicine physician with expertise during the perinatal period; hiring a resource and referral specialist with expertise in navigating the substance use disorder service delivery system; developing a toolkit for providers specific to screening and treatment of pregnant and postpartum women for substance use; and providing training statewide using the toolkit"; and in said item by striking out the figures “$486,718,033” and inserting in place thereof the following figures:- “$486,893,033”.
