Further Sentence of Convict in State Prison

Representatives Markey of Dartmouth and Linsky of Natick moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

SECTION XX. Chapter 279 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out Section 26 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

"Section 26. A convict under sentence of imprisonment in the state prison shall be further sentenced for a maximum term not longer than the longest term fixed by law for the punishment of the crime for which he has been convicted, and a minimum term which shall be at least twenty five percent less than the maximum term imposed, and not less than one year."
