Sunrise Springfield Public School Bi Lingual Health Program

Mr. González of Springfield Mr. Gonzalez of Springfield moves to amend item 4000-0300 by adding the following the following: provided further that not less than $700,000 shall be made available to a Springfield Public School/ Sunrise. After Hurricane Maria, To provide behavioral and mental health services to students and their families seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, and symptoms affecting their mental health. Counseling for Western MA families/residents who are affected by worrying for their relatives Post-Hurricane Maria.

 

A major disaster in Puerto Rico, evacuees are migrating to the City of Springfield, Holyoke and the Western MA region. Out of all the school districts in the Commonwealth of MA, Springfield has had over 600 Puerto Rican students enroll, the largest number of students migrating statewide.
