Amendment #1375 to H4400

Franklin County Sheriff Retained Revenue

Representatives Mark of Peru and Whipps of Athol move to amend the bill in section 2, by adding after item 8910-0108 the following new item:

“XXXX-XXXX. For the Franklin sheriff’s office, which may expend for the operation of the Franklin county regional lockup at the Franklin county jail not more than $400,000 in revenue; provided, that the office shall enter into agreements to provide detention services to various law enforcement agencies and municipalities and shall determine and collect fees for those detentions from the law enforcement agencies and municipalities; and provided further, that for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the office may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate as reported in the state accounting system…..$400,000”.
