Amendment #212 to H4400

Non Resident Pupil Transportation Language Revision

Representatives Kane of Shrewsbury, Crocker of Barnstable, Muratore of Plymouth, Cutler of Duxbury, Ferguson of Holden, Gifford of Wareham, Berthiaume of Spencer, Durant of Spencer, DeCoste of Norwell, Walsh of Framingham and Pignatelli of Lenox move to amend the bill by adding the following section:

“SECTION XXXX. Chapter 74 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out section 8A, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 8A. A school district may charge a fee for transportation for students in grades 7 through 12, inclusive, who attend an out of district vocational or agricultural school; provided, however, that said fee shall not exceed the fee charged to students in grades 7 through 12, inclusive, who attend an in district school; and provided, further,  that no fee shall be required for students whose families are at or below 300 per cent of the federal poverty level as defined by the federal Department of Health and Human Services.”
