Amendment #340 to H4400

Making the legislature subject to the public records law

Mr. Lyons of Andover moves to amend the bill by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:—

“SECTION X. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, chapter 66 is hereby further amended by striking out section 18 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

SECTION 18. This chapter shall not apply to declarations, affidavits and other papers filed by claimants in the office of the commissioner of veterans' services, or records kept by him for reference by the officials of his office, be public records."
