Workforce Development Grants

Mr. Barrett of North Adams moves to amend the bill in Section 2, by inserting after line item 7002-0017 the following:

"7002-0020  For an advanced manufacturing program administered by the executive office of housing and economic development that provides training to unemployed and underemployed individuals, including veterans, provided that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for the Charles H. McCann Technical School retraining program for the unemployed and underemployed which shall include a cooperative on-the-job training component, and further provided that not less than $50,000 shall be provided to the Berkshire Training and Employment Program for an on-the-job training pilot program in which Berkshire Training and Employment shall provide 90% of the salary for 9 months for a trainee with a private sector employer in Berkshire County, provided said employer shall be in good standing with the state and federal government and further provided that said trainee program shall result in permanent employment in a non-healthcare related industry..................       $100,000"
