Mr. Murphy of Weymouth moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7006-0142, in line 14, by inserting after “inspections” the following: “provided further that the department shall employ more than 70 full-time equivalent elevator inspectors, including an additional engineer inspector and that funds shall be expended for the operation of the department to address the existing elevator inspection backlog and to defray the costs associated with performing overtime elevator inspections”.
