Amendment #643 to H4400

Fishing Partnership Funding

Representatives Ferrante of Gloucester, Cabral of New Bedford, Haddad of Somerset, Peake of Provincetown, Collins of Boston, Markey of Dartmouth, Muratore of Plymouth, Straus of Mattapoisett, Calter of Kingston, Cutler of Duxbury, Gordon of Bedford, Hunt of Sandwich, Koczera of New Bedford, Schmid of Westport, Fernandes of Falmouth, Mirra of West Newbury and Tucker of Salem move to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. Chapter 47 of the acts of 1997 is hereby amended by striking out section 22 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 22. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, in fiscal years 2019 to 2025, inclusive, the office of Medicaid shall allocate $2,000,000 annually for a Fishing Partnership Health Plan Corporation project that shall provide services to fishermen and fishing families; provided, however, that such services shall include, but not be limited to, assisting fishermen and fishing families in obtaining health insurance coverage.”
