Amendment #820 to H4400

Redefining student assessment

Mr. Hawkins of Attleboro moves to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting after item 7061-9400 the following item:

"7601-9401..For the center for collaborate education ; provided, that the center shall manage an alternative assessment pilot program that shall be administered under contract with the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment; and provided further, that the consortium shall develop and pilot a comprehensive system for assessing student and school performance over a period of 3 years and issue an annual report and a final report that includes recommendations to the commissioner of elementary and secondary education and to members of the joint committee on education...................$400,000".
