Amendment #884 to H4400

Transitional Youth Early Intervention Probation Strategy

Representatives Mom of Lowell, Golden of Lowell and Nangle of Lowell move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 0330-0599 the following item:

“xxxx-xxxx For the implementation of the recommendations set forth by the Council of State Governments Justice Center-Massachusetts Criminal Justice Review including, but not limited to, the establishment of new programs and expansion of existing programs targeted at recidivism reduction; provided that not less than $562,500 shall be expended for the development of a transitional youth early intervention probation pilot program to be administered by the commissioner of probation; and provided further, that the funds appropriated in this item in fiscal year 2019 shall not revert but shall be made available for these purposes through June 30, 2020..... $562,500.”;
