Amendment #896 to H4400

Recovery High Schools

Ms. Malia of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7061-9607, in line 5, by inserting after the word “model” the following: “; provided further, that the department shall annually summit a report not later than March 1, 2019 to the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on education, the chairs of the house and senate committees on ways and means and the secretary of administration and finance detailing: (i) the number of youth served per high school; (ii) outcomes measured for youth; and (iii) recommendations for new recovery high schools in fiscal year 2019 and fiscal year 2020; provided further, that not less than $620,000 shall be expended to each of the existing recovery high schools in the commonwealth; provided further, that $500,000 shall be expended to open a new high school in an underserved region of the commonwealth”; and in said item by striking out the figure “2,475,000” and inserting in place thereof the figure “3,600,000”.
