Amendment #227 to H4599
The Massachusetts Center for Clean Transportation
Mr. Golden of Lowell moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:
“SECTION XXXX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, and subject to appropriations, there may be established a Massachusetts Center for Clean Transportation, which shall be located upon a campus within the University of Massachusetts system. The Massachusetts Center for Clean Transportation shall be established in order to provide a platform for evaluating technologies, bolstering new companies, and fostering cutting-edge research focused on reducing the emissions and environmental impacts of transportation”;
and in section 2A, in item 2000-7081, in line 413, by inserting after “resiliency” the following: “provided that not less than $1,000,000 shall be expended for the equipment and maintenance of the Massachusetts Center for Clean Transportation”; and in said item by striking out the figures “$75,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$76,000,000”.
