Amendment #122 to H4617

To Reduce Patient Co-Payment Rates for Care Provided by Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

Mr. Speliotis of Danvers moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"Section XXXX

SECTION 1: Chapter 176O of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 27 the following new section:

Section 28: Notwithstanding any general or special law or any rule or regulation to the contrary any co-payment rate charged to a patient corresponding to the cost of exclusive care provided by a physician assistant, as defined in section 9E of chapter 112 of the General Laws, or a nurse practitioner, as defined in section 1 of chapter 176R of the General Laws, shall be adjusted to not exceed 85 per cent of the co-payment rate pursuant to the corresponding cost of care provided by a physician, as defined in section 71 of chapter 93 of the General Laws."
