Amendment #1 to H4664

Protection of professional free speech

Mr. Lyons of Andover moves to amend the bill In section 275 (a) after the words "purpose" in line 11 by adding the following:

"“Aversion therapy”, any practice, treatment, or therapy in which a client or patient is subjected to the use or application of any device, substance, odor, or force that causes or is intended to cause pain, discomfort, or unpleasant sensations to the client or patient.”

 

and by further amending in line 20, after the words "identity", by adding the following:

"utilizing aversion therapy,"

 

and by further amending in line 27, after the words "sexual practices;" the following:

"(iv) which utilize speech alone to assist the client or patient in achieving his or her desired sexual orientation or gender identity."
