Amendment #15 to H4738

Study of time of use electric rates

Mr. Goldstein-Rose of Amherst moves to amend the bill by inserting the following section –

“SECTION 10. The department of public utilities shall conduct a study of the feasibility and best options for real-time or time-varying rates and other innovative rate structures for all electricity customers in Massachusetts. The results of such study shall be published and a copy submitted to the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy by December 10, 2019. Any recommendations made by such study that do not require legislative approval shall be implemented by the department by June 30, 2020.”
