The committee on Rules to whom was referred the Senate Bill observing United States Navy Day (Senate, No. 1766),-- reports that the matter be placed in the Orders of the Day for the next session with an amendment substituting a new draft entitled “An Act observing United States Navy Birthday Day.” (Senate, No. 2519).

An Act observing United States Navy Birthday Day.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15GGGGGG the following section:-

Section 15HHHHHH. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart October 13 as United States Navy Birthday Day, in recognition of the commonwealth’s status as the birthplace of the United States Navy and in commemoration of the establishment of the Continental Navy on October 13, 1775.
