Marijuana & Pesticide Enforcement

Ms. Gobi, Messrs. O'Connor and Moore move to amend the bill by inserting, after section 11 the following new section: - 

“SECTION 11A. Subsection (a) of section 4 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking paragraph (8) in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-

(8) health and safety standards, developed in consultation with the department of public health and the department of agricultural resources, for the cultivation, processing, manufacture and distribution of marijuana and marijuana products, including standards regarding sanitation for the preparation, storage, handling and sale of food products; provided however, that the authority to promulgate regulations pertaining to the use of pesticides shall remain with the department of agricultural resources, consistent with chapter 132B;”.
