Bicycle Safety

Ms. Creem moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION 16. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall establish a public awareness campaign, in consultation with the department of elementary and secondary education, the department of higher education and municipal law enforcement, on bicycle safety not later than January 1, 2018.  The campaign shall emphasize traffic laws and regulations that apply to bicycle operators including, but not limited to, operating mobile electronic devices in hands-free mode, obeying traffic signals, signage and safety tips.”
