Improving Resources

Mr. Tarr moves to amend the amendment by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:-

"Section_:Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development, shall undertake a stidy to evaluate the type, cost and availability of current support mechanisms utilized by state government to assist pregnant workers in maintaining household economic stability, and to identify and evaluate additional methods and strategize for such purposes; including but not limited to scaled benefits for such programs as those subsidizing day care and nutrition, so as to allow such workers to receive such support and remain in the work force for reduced hours of work.

The results of said study, together with any legislative recommendations, shall be reported to the clerks of the House and Senate not later than March 1, 2018."
