Adoption of clinical standards for mental health treatment

Messrs. Keenan, O'Connor, Pacheco and Hinds move to amend the bill in section 109, by inserting after the words “judgment”, in line 704, the following words:- “, provided that clinical standards shall be promulgated by the department of correction in consultation with the department of mental health”; and

in said section 109, by inserting after the word “contraindicated”, in line 710, the following words:- “, provided that clinical standards shall be promulgated by the department of correction in consultation with the department of mental health”; and

in said section 109, by striking out, in lines719 and 720, the words “in accordance with clinical standards adopted by the department” and inserting in place thereof the words:- “by a qualified mental health professional in accordance with clinical standards adopted by the department of correction in consultation with the department of mental health”; and

in said section 109, by inserting after the word “sheriffs”, in line 765, the following words:- “and the department of mental health”.
