Ensuring an Accurate Comprehensive Adaptation Management Plan

Mr. Tarr moves to amend the bill by striking out lines 11-12, inclusive, and inserting in place thereof the following definition:-

““Hazard mitigation”, actions that reduce or eliminate long-term risks caused by natural or man-made disasters.”;

and further, in said section, in line 37, by inserting after the words “climate change”, the following sentence:- “ The plan shall be fully integrated with the state hazard mitigation plan, completed by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and must meet Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines.”;

and further, in said section, by striking out lines 56-59, inclusive, and inserting in place thereof the following:- “populations; (iii) data on observed and projected climate trends that is based on the latest information, forecasting and models regarding climate change indicators and trends that shall include, but not limited to, extreme weather events, changes in temperature, precipitation, drought, sea level, inland and coastal flooding and wildfire; (iv) a statement on the preparedness and vulnerabilities”;

and further, in said section, in line 65, by inserting after the word “ecosystems” the following:- “and employ these resources to support climate adaptation, build resilience, and mitigate climate change”.
