Insurance Coverage for Dependents over age 26 with Disabilities

Ms. L'Italien and Mr. Cyr move to amend the bill by adding the following 3 sections:

SECTION XX.  Subdivision (P) of Section 110 of Chapter 175, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking, in line 463, the words “under 26 years of age” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-  “until the dependent’s 26th birthday or without regard to age if they are incapable of self-sustaining employment due to disability.

SECTION XX.  Section 4T of Chapter 176G of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking, in line 6, the words “under 26 years of age” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-  “until the dependent’s 26th birthday or without regard to age if they are incapable of self-sustaining employment due to disability.

SECTION XX.  Section 1 of Chapter 176J of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking, in line 85, the words: “the end of the child’s twenty-sixth year of age” and inserting in place thereof:- “a child’s 26th birthday or without regard to age if they are incapable of self-sustaining employment due to disability.
