Regarding Financial Eligibility for Medicaid

Ms. L'Italien, Mr. Cyr and Ms. Jehlen move to amend the bill in Section 130 by striking the first  paragraph, and replacing it with the following new language:

SECTION 130. The executive office of health and human services  shall apply for a federal waiver to: (i) permit a Medicare member, who does not meet the financial eligibility standards for Medicaid but demonstrates insufficient income and assets to pay for 135 days of skilled nursing facility care, to prospectively enroll in the MassHealth senior care options program, or the home care program under chapter 19A.,  using Medicare or other funding;
