Redraft Further Amendment 12.1

Messrs. Fattman and Tarr move to further amend amendment #12 by striking the underlying amendment in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:-

by inserting after section 3 the following section:-

"SECTION 3A. The department of elementary and secondary education shall conduct a study on the full implementation of this act. The study shall include: (i) a breakdown of costs funded through the Civics Project Trust Fund established in section 2ZZZZ of chapter 29 of the General Laws and the degree to which those funds supported municipal and school district activities related to this act; (ii) a description of the municipal and school district activities funded; (iii) an analysis of municipal and school district activities to promote the implementation of this act; and (iv) recommended funding levels for the Civics Project Trust Fund to provide ongoing support for the projects and activities related to this act.

The report shall be filed with the clerks of the senate and house of representatives, the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on education not later than 9 months after full implementation of this act."
