Financial oversight of the broadband Municipal Lighting Plants

Mr. Tarr moves that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after Section 4 the following new section:-

SECTION XX. Said section 47E of Chapter 164 of the General Laws is hereby further amended by inserting after the fifth sentence the following sentence:-

Such cooperative or municipal lighting plant, which is engaged in the business of operating a telecommunications system, shall file annually with the department of telecommunications and cable on forms prescribed by the department of telecommunications and cable, a statement of its revenues and expenses for official use only.  In addition, each such cooperative or municipal lighting plant, which is engaged in the business of operating a telecommunications system, shall file with the department of telecommunications and cable on forms prescribed by the department of telecommunications and cable, a financial balance sheet which shall be open to public inspection.
