Short Term Rental Local Control

Mr. Boncore moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 35, by striking out the words, "Section 11. A city or town, by ordinance or by-law not inconsistent with this chapter, may regulate operators and impose penalties for violations of those ordinances or by-laws.  An ordinance or by-law may require registration, licensing and inspection and may regulate the existence or location of operators." and inserting in place thereof the following new words:-"Section 11.  Nothing in this Section shall preclude a city or town, by ordinance or by-law, from regulating operators or imposing penalties for violations of those ordinances or by-laws.”
