Implementing Foundation Budget Recommendations

Ms. Chang-Diaz, Messrs. Lewis, Humason and O'Connor moved that the proposed new text be amended in Section 3, by inserting after the words “2017 foundation budget.” the following:-

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, each district shall be allotted an English language learner increment for additional services for English language learners, including those enrolled in vocational and technical schools; provided, however, that the increment for fiscal year 2018 shall be $2,387.20 multiplied by the number of English language learners in the district; provided, further, that the rates used for English language learners in prior fiscal years shall no longer apply.
