Strengthening Community Policing

Ms. Chang-Diaz and Mr. Moore moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 8200-0200, by inserting after the words "pursuant to section 93;" the following:-

"provided further, that the committee shall provide and every municipal, University of Massachusetts, and Environmental Police officer shall attend a 3-hour professional development and training course on implicit bias as part of their 40-hour annual in-service training requirement;"

and further amended in section 2, in item 8100-1001, by inserting after the words "properties and parkways" the following:-

"provided further, that the department shall enter into an agreement with the municipal police training committee to provide and every state police officer shall attend a 3-hour professional development and training course on implicit bias as part of their 40-hour annual in-service training requirement;"
