Smart Tolling

Messrs. Boncore, Eldridge, Crighton and Ross, Ms. Friedman, Mr. Cyr, Ms. Gobi and Mr. Brownsberger moved that the proposed new text be amended at the end thereof by inserting the following new section:- Section XX.  Before March 31, 2019, The Massachusetts department of transportation shall implement a comprehensive, variable toll pricing program that is intended to relieve traffic congestion on currently tolled facilities. Said program shall include a discount structure including off-peak discounts of at least 25 percent. Only vehicles with transponders issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall be eligible for discounts."
