Gifted and Talented Study

Ms. Creem, Messrs. Lewis and Brownsberger moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 7010-0005, by inserting the following:-  “; provided further, that $50,000 shall be allocated by the department to study and report on a policy and practice review, along with a needs assessment, regarding education in the public schools of Massachusetts, of the children who are capable of achieving beyond the age-based grades, as well as those who are gifted, as defined under federal law," and in said item by striking out the figures “$12,098,745” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$12,148,745”
