Berkshire County Education Task Force

Representatives Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Mark of Peru and Pignatelli of Lee move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7010-1192 by inserting after the word “commonwealth”  that not less than $100,000 shall be expended for the Berkshire County Education Task Force to offer material support to efforts by Berkshire County school districts to eliminate redundancy and improve educational opportunities by sharing services and consolidating programming, as well as to enable the Task Force to proceed in developing models for achieving greater educational quality and equity throughout all of Berkshire County by creating within ten years a single countywide school district, with such models pertaining to governance, administration, operation, financing, and other areas that must be addressed if that objective is to be realized; provided further, that the task force shall collaborate with the department of elementary and secondary education; provided further, that the task force shall collaborate with the department of elementary and secondary education; and in said item by striking the figures $500,00 and inserting in place thereof the figures $600,000
