Amendment #699 to H3800
HomeBASE Eligibility Improvements
Representatives Ferrante of Gloucester, O'Day of West Boylston, Cutler of Duxbury, Ultrino of Malden, Gifford of Wareham, Blais of Sunderland and Santiago of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7004-0108, in line 3, by inserting after “housing;” the following:- “provided, eligible families shall include families at the point of receiving the judgement of possession notice, if such families otherwise meet all eligibility requirements;”;
and in said item, in lines 6 through 8 inclusive, by striking out the words:- “provided further, that a family shall not receive more than a combined sum of $10,000 in a 12-month period from this item and item 7004-9316;”;
and in said item, in line 14, by inserting after “exceeded;” the following:- “provided further, that the families who received the maximum amount of household assistance in a prior 12-month period, who complied with their rehousing plan during the prior period of assistance, who continue to include a child under the age of 21 or a pregnant woman, and whose gross income does not exceed 50 percent of area median income or who have not had income in excess of said 50 percent level for a period of six months shall be eligible for further allotments of up to $10,000 in household assistance in subsequent 12-month periods to prevent their eviction from their existing housing or to relocate to another housing situation, without needing to first be evicted from their existing housing or otherwise needing to establish that they fall into one of the four categories of affirmative eligibility for emergency assistance shelter listed in item 7004-0101;”
