Ensuring Ambulance Service Access to Naloxone

Mr. O'Day of West Boylston moves to amend the bill by inserting the following four sections:- "SECTION XX. Subsection (a) of section 2RRRR of chapter 29 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out the second sentence, as most recently amended by section 21 of chapter 208 of the acts of 2018, and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-

Municipalities, ambulance services licensed under chapter 111C and non-profit organizations that contract with the department of public health’s bureau of substance addiction services may join the program to purchase naloxone for municipal first responder agencies and such ambulance services and non-profit organizations.

SECTION XX. Said subsection (a) of said section 2RRRR of said chapter 29, as most recently amended by section 21 of chapter 208 of the acts of 2018, is hereby amended by striking out the words “technical assistance to participating municipalities, non-profit organizations and sheriffs to ensure that the municipalities,” and inserting in place thereof the following:- technical assistance to participating municipalities, ambulance services, non-profit organizations and sheriffs to ensure that the municipalities, ambulance services,

SECTION XX. Subsection (b) of said section 2RRRR of said chapter 29, as most recently amended by section 26 of chapter 154 of the acts of 2018, is hereby amended by striking out the words “(i) payments made by participating municipalities and nonprofit organizations for the purchase of naloxone;” and inserting in place thereof the following:- (i) payments made by program participants for the purchase of naloxone;

SECTION XX. Said subsection (b) of said section 2RRRR of said chapter 29, as most recently amended by section 26 of chapter 154 of the acts of 2018, is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The report shall include, but not be limited to, revenue received by the fund, revenue and expenditure projections for the forthcoming fiscal year and details of all expenditures from the fund, participants in the program, the amount of naloxone purchased by each participant and the discount procured through bulk purchasing."
