Amendment #809 to H3800

Chris Walsh Center for Educators and Families of Metrowest

Representatives Robinson of Framingham, Lewis of Framingham, Gentile of Sudbury, Roy of Franklin, Kane of Shrewsbury, Linsky of Natick, Barber of Somerville, Garballey of Arlington, Brodeur of Melrose, Mark of Peru, Vega of Holyoke, Provost of Somerville, Ferguson of Holden, Dykema of Holliston, Ashe of Longmeadow, Hecht of Watertown and Crocker of Barnstable move to amend the bill in section 2 by adding the following section: "SECTION XXXX. For a pilot program at Framingham State University to establish the Chris Walsh Center for Educators and Families of Metrowest for families and educators about the continuum of educational supports available to students with disabilities, students who are gifted, students with unmet needs. The center will offer support, workshops, and other programming for families educators, student support professionals, administrators and advocates in the MetroWest area. The center also will engage in scholarly research, educator preparation, and professional development…..$200,000".
