Coastal Foodshed

Mr. Straus of Mattapoisett moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in item 2511-0100, by adding the following: “; provided that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for the administration of the Coastal Foodshed initiative within the Greater New Bedford region to promote and grow the local food access economy and distribution channels for locally grown food, increase access to locally grown and sourced produce to underserved communities, provide assistance in harvesting and preserving fruit, promote the sharing of produce, and work to protect and foster the growth of urban and community gardens and fruit trees.”
