Amendment #953 to H3800

MOR-EV (Electric Vehicle) Program

Representatives Hecht of Watertown, Barber of Somerville, Blais of Sunderland, Connolly of Cambridge, Cutler of Duxbury, Domb of Amherst, Durant of Spencer, Gouveia of Acton, Honan of Boston, Keefe of Worcester, Khan of Newton, Lawn of Watertown, Lewis of Framingham, Meschino of Hull, Provost of Somerville, Robinson of Framingham and Williams of Springfield move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7006-1003 the following item:  "7006-1004 For Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles (MOR-EV) administered by the Department of Energy Resources; provided further, that the rebate for a qualified battery electric or fuel cell vehicle shall be not less than $2,500 and the rebate for a plug-in hybrid vehicle shall be not less than $1,000; and provided further that the department shall establish a new low-income instant rebate of not less than $2,000 for new and used battery electric, fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid vehicles …….. $5,000,000"
