Amendment #27 to H3987

Scituate Drinking Water

Mr. Kearney of Scituate moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section:

“SECTION XXX. (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Environmental Protection shall perform a study of in the Town of Scituate. The study shall include, but not be limited to, the water levels of reservoirs, the effect that public wells have on the drinking water quality, the effectiveness of ice pigging on public water lines, the impact of rising sea level water infiltration on public drinking water and any and all environmental factors that are significantly affect the quality of public drinking water.

(b) The Department shall report the results of the study by filing a report with the Clerk of the Senate; the Clerk of the House of Representatives; the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs; and the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture no later than 6 months after passage of this act.”
