Amendment #14 to H4012

Authorizing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to establish additional mandated reporters for the purpose of the protection and care of children

Mr. Barrows of Mansfield moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:-

SECTION X: Section 21 of Chapter 119, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after “child advocate, in line 74, the following:-

“, (vii) any public or private school employee in Massachusetts; (viii) persons who care for, or work with, a child in any private or public child care facility in the Commonwealth, paid or unpaid; (ix) all employees of the Commonwealth and (x) volunteers who work regularly with children through sporting teams or local organizations.”

SECTION X: Chapter 119, as appearing, is further amended by inserting the following new section:-

“Section 21A 1/2. All designated mandated reporters in the commonwealth shall be required to take training as provided by the proper state agencies, and any additional refresher training provided by the state certified agencies.”
