Amendment #18 to H4367

Ensuring Proper Public Notification

Ms. Blais of Sunderland moves to amend the bill by adding the following 2 sections:

“SECTION 4. Subsection (b) of section 5 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following clause:-

(5) the prospective marijuana establishment has:

(i) within 6 months prior to the application, filed a community outreach meeting notice with the host community city or town clerk;

(ii) ensured notice of the community outreach meeting filed with the host community city or town clerk has been posted in accordance with sections 18 to 25, inclusive, of chapter 30A; and

(iii) conducted a community outreach meeting in compliance with regulations promulgated by the commission.

SECTION 5. Said section 5 of said chapter 94G, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following subsection:-

(c) For the purposes of this section, the term “community outreach meeting” shall mean a meeting hosted by the prospective marijuana establishment for the purpose of explaining the proposed marijuana establishment use and provide information about potential impacts to the neighborhood and community as a whole.”.
