Amendment #8 to H4508

Shared rides for low-income, disabled, or elderly individuals

Representatives Cutler of Pembroke, Muratore of Plymouth and LaNatra of Kingston move to amend the bill by striking out section 18 and inserting in place thereof the following section:

"SECTION 18.  “Shared ride”, (1) a pre-arranged ride requested or selected by a rider, which may be shared with 1 or more riders, who each independently use transportation network services to select the pre-arranged ride, regardless of whether the rider actually shares all or part of the ride with 1 or more riders; provided, that each rider is charged a fare that is calculated, in part, based on the rider’s request or acceptance of the request to share all or part of the pre-arranged ride; or (2) a pre-arranged ride requested or selected by a rider through an established paratransit program serving low-income, disabled, or elderly individuals”.
