Ms. Robinson of Framingham moves to amend the bill in Section 6(i), in line 113, by striking out the words "submitted by mail," and in line 116 by inserting after the words "general election." the words
“Notwithstanding the provisions of section 25B of chapter 54 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, all early voting ballots submitted by mail under this section shall be timely cast if: (1) in the primary election, the ballot is received by the city or town clerk at or before the hour fixed for closing the polls; and (2) in the general election, the ballot is postmarked no later than election day and received by the city or town clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the fifth business day following election day, or, if the ballot is sent using metered mail, permit imprint, or such mail method that does not require or receive a postmark, received by the city or town clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the fifth business day following election day.”
