Addressing Direct Civil Rights Violations

Ms. Provost of Somerville moves to amend the bill, as amended, by inserting the following new section;

SECTION X. Said chapter 12 is hereby further amended by inserting at the end of section 11I the following sentence:-

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in an action in which a person or entity acting under color of law is the defendant, the plaintiff shall not be required to prove that the violation of a secured right was by means of threats, intimidation or coercion.
