A Special Commission To Study Qualified Immunity

Representatives LaNatra of Kingston and Cutler of Pembroke move to amend the bill, as amended, by inserting the following new section:

SECTION XX. A special Commission will be convened to study qualified immunity, consisting of 5 legal experts in the relevant areas of qualified immunity and its impact on public safety two appointed by the Governor, one appointed by the Senate President, one appointed by the Speaker of the House and a designee of the Supreme Judicial Court is hereby created. The Commission shall study the issues of qualified immunity and file a report with the House and Senate Clerks within 180 days from its creation.
